I have loved the Friesian breed since seeing my first one in the movie Ladyhawk. The Friesian is a majestic, powerful, and graceful horse. I started looking for a baroque stallion to cross with my mares.
Going for flashy black and whites Friesian sport horses. My first Friesian crosses were out of several of my black and white Quarter Horse and Paint mares and Danny, a 17.2 hand, 2250 pound Friesian. Producing mostly big black foals.
The next Friesian stallion was Flurry, a 16.2 hand Friesian with more of the baroque conformation and tons of hair. Producing the flashy sorrel and white paint and sorrels.
Then my sister discovered a phenomenal Friesian stallion. He is everything I am looking for in a Friesian..... majestic presences, massive size, powerful yet graceful movement.... Sjoerd is everything I love about the Friesian breed and I knew I had found the stallion needed for spectacular Friesian Sport Horse crosses. Sjoerd has easily proven himself with 74 World Championships and is the #1 sire in the USA. USEF Horse of the Year, Horse Stars Hall of Fame and a real life Breyer Horse.
I was blessed to find Danny Van De Hamelspoel. He is a magnificent half brother to Sjoerd. Imported from the Neatherlands both Van De and Sjoerd are to our knowledge the only two siring sons of World Champion Tsjalke 397 in the Untied States. We are excited to be seeing his first foals reaching riding age.
I knew that we had to find great mares that would produce quality in temperament, trainability, and conformation. Over the years we have selectively searched and added quality Morgan, Warlander, Friesian, and PRE/Andalusian mares to our breeding program. These mares are just as important if not more in breeding quality horses and by being selective in having both quality and wonderful temperaments we produce foals that are a joy to own.
